The Music of Dirty Dancing, OsloOctober 5th - Wonderful Follies recognised in TMA Awards!

Northampton's Royal and Derngate Theatre's acclaimed production of Follies has been nominated for the TMA - Best Musical Production. Directed by Laurie Sansom and Choreographed by Nick Winston the production was the centrepiece for the re-opening of the newly refurbished theatres.

The awards will be held on Sunday, October 21 at Hampstead Theatre and will be hosted by Kwame Kwei-Armah.

The Music of Dirty Dancing, OsloOctober 5th - Another Kind of Magic

Nick Winston will be Directing and Choreographing Another Kind of Magic - a Queen Concert with a full Symphony Orchestra.

Opening on the 2nd of November in Helsinki it will tour Scandinavia - details to follow so check back later.











September 2nd - The Music of Dirty Dancing

Laura Brydon and "Grease is the Word" runner up Michael Quinn will be starring in the UK tour of "The Music of Dirty Dancing" directed by Nick Winston. The cast also includes Simon Archer, Gemma Naylor, Lara Denning, Zoe Leone Gappy, Juliet Gough, Adam Scown, Alain Terzoli and Oliver Tydman.

It has just been announced that Nick will again be collaborating with Director Steven Dexter for the Derby Playhouse production of the Richard Harris comedy, "Stepping Out" which begins performances on 13th October and will run until 17th November. Casting to be announced soon.

June 11th - THE WORLD PREMIER of The Adventures of Pinocchio

It has just been announced that Nick Winston will be part of the creative team for "The Adventures Of Pinocchio", a new opera by Johnathan Dove and Alasdair Middleton for Opera North.

The production, directed by Martin Duncan and designed by Francis O'Conner, will premiere at The Grand Theatre in Leeds, on the 21st of December.

Johnathan Dove was responsible for last years acclaimed productions of The Enchanted Pig and Tobias and the Angel, both at the Young Vic.

April 9th - A Tribute to Dirty Dancing

Amy PembertonDougal IrvineOpening in Oslo on the 20th of April, A Tribute to Dirty Dancing will be Directed and Choreographed by Nick Winston for the second year.

Now with additional numbers and two UK dates, the show features Amy Pemberton and Dougal Irvine with backing vocals from Abigail Jaye, Eleanor Wright and an ensemble including Suzy Bastone, Zoe-Leone Gappy, Emily Mascarenhas, Sarah Meade, Andrew Derbyshire, Alec Mann, Philippe Reynolds and Pharic Scott.

March 25th - Nick goes international

Over the next few weeks Nick Winston will be choreographing the launch of "Meydan" for the Dubai Racing club, which will performed on 30th March in front of the royal family, invited guests and the international media.

This new musical will be Directed by Anthony Drewe and Choreographed by Nick Winston.

The Thing About Men is a musical comedy based on the 1985 German film ‘Men’ by Doris Dörrie. Set in New York, it involves a love triangle and shows extreme lengths men will go to keep their love affairs and pride intact.

February 9th - The King Head

Nick Winston will be choreographing "The Thing About Men" at the Kings Head, London. Directed by Anthony Drewe and designed by Philp Witcomb, previews begin April 24th.

18th November - A busy season ahead!

Nick Winston has choreographed a number of Christmas shows for the festive season. The Borrowers (until the 6th of Jan) at The Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke; Pinnochio (until the 13th Jan) at Northamptons Royal and Derngate Theatre and Aladdin (until the 7th Jan) at Venue Cymru, Llandudno reviewed in The Stage.

November 2nd - Tomorrow Morning Cast Recording

The 2006 New End Theatre Cast Recording of Tomorrow Morning featuring Emma Williams, Stephen Ashfield, Annette McLaughlin and Alistair Robins will be released on the 2nd of December. The shows Book Music and Lyrics were written by Laurence Mark Wythe and was directed by Nick Winston.

Nick Winston found himself with two shows on in Hampstead, with both Tomorrow Morning, at the New End Theatre and at Kenwood, Nick Directed and Choreographed A Tribute to Dirty Dancing.

The new musical Tomorrow Morning is set to open in just a few days! Director Nick Winston is excited about his latest project and says he hopes "people embrace the show and its talented new writer, Laurence Mark Whythe." July 1st Follies

Nick Winston is involved in a new production of Stephen Sondheim's Follies which will open at the Royal Theatre in Nicks home town, Northampton, this October.

The show will feature local performers working alongside professionals and will be the first in-house production on the Royals stage. Tickets will be available from the end of July.
